Julianna Sanromán: Where We Still Meet
Sanromán (MFA ’27) is a multidisciplinary artist from Detroit working across painting, installation, and community-based altar practices. As the daughter of deported parents, Sanromán approaches separation as an ongoing condition; lived through memory, waiting, and the spaces between connection. Her practice embraces dreaming as a way of staying close, where time bends and multiple futures can exist at once.
